When it comes to fresh fish, we prefer to keep it local and limited. Most of our fresh fish comes from local fisherman and only makes it up on the specials board when the Chef feels it’s really worthy of being there. Fresh fish is always served in ways that showcase the freshness of the product. When it comes to “fish and chips”- which holds a permanent spot on the menu- we do it one way, and one way only- top quality line caught Alaskan Cod, hand dipped in a fresh Ale batter, fried in a dedicated fry basket, and served with house fries, fresh buttermilk cole slaw, and home made tartar sauce. We don’t like to brag… but we’ve been preparing fish and chips the exact same way for over 20 years, and we sell A LOT of fish and chips… you can draw your own conclusions.
When it comes to the art of the burger, we take it very seriously. As all of us know, when treated with respect, the humble hamburger can be an earth moving revelation. We approach the hamburger with reverence. First, the beef: 100% ultra-premium custom blend raised on an all natural vegetarian diet with no growth hormones, antibiotics or additives, fresh ground daily to our exact specifications. Second: The bun. Unless stated (or requested) otherwise, all of our hamburgers and specialty burgers are served on a freshly baked bun from a local Bakery in Healdsburg. Third: Accessorize! Choose from a long list of delicious ingredients to customize your burger, or chose from a list of our signature burgers.
Most of our lettuce is sourced locally and is certified organic. We make an effort to put forth the freshest product possible. Most of the greens in the Brewhouse Salad, The Big Brew Salad and others are organic, and farmed using sustainable methods. Additionally, many of our Daily Specials employ the use of organic local ingredients. While it’s not always possible to use organic, we always make an effort to bring quality organic ingredients to the table.
Deep Fried Awesomeness
Why fight it? The lure of the fry basket is too strong! The key to preparing top-notch fried food is to use excellent ingredients and excellent frying oil. We use 100% pure, trans-fat free vegetable oil. We change it often, and we never fry the fish in the same basket as the chips! No way! Never cutting corners makes for some incredible fried yum-ness! And btw, when we’re all done with the spent fry oil, we give it to a company that makes Bio-Diesel- see Mom: fried food can give you lots of energy!
